Description
This is a 26-slide PowerPoint program that details various sidewall opening, lay down, or total sidewall removal procedures that NFPA 1006 Operations-level personnel should be capable of accomplishing within a benchmark training scenario time of 5 minutes. If the situation is tough going, steps for accomplishing complete B-pillar removal is also addressed. Side wall or side structure removal is addressed in pages 149-152 of the Vehicle Rescue 1-2-3 book.
Rescue personnel might refer to the overall opening of the side of the passenger vehicle as ‘Making a Third Door’ of ‘Total Sidewall Removal’, but the challenge is there regardles of the situation.
The PowerPoint program includes all the images from pages 149-152 of the book. Each slide of the program has a text box that contains the two or three sentences that appear with that picture in the book. There are also Instructor Notes for the slides with training tips, recommendations, advice on presenting the info, and more.
