Description
This is a short, 6-slide PowerPoint program that identifies the components in terms that are typically used by instructors/presenters when conducting technical rescue extrication training. When the Presenter mentions the ‘B-pillar’, all participants should be aware of the term and know where the component is located.
The goal at this point in a vehicle rescue training program is to assure that all participants are aware and utilize common terminology for the various Vehicle Anatomy components. Operations-and Technician-level rescue personnel should recognize these Anatomy terms.
NFPA Standard 1006 states that rescue personnel are to be capable of identifying ingress and egress openings for a given vehicle. Standardized Anatomy terminology, even of smaller passenger vehicles, is a vital part of accomplishing this competency.
Material within the PowerPoint program includes the artist’ rendering visual provided on page 10 in the Vehicle Rescue 1-2-3 book plus additional exploded artist renderings that will be found to be of value to both instructors and participants.
This brief PowerPoint program includes the images from page 10 of the book. Each slide contains its’ own text box with the two or three sentences that appear with that image in the book.
