Description
This is a 54-slide PowerPoint program that presents various steering column entrapment techniques beginning with cutting & bending the steering wheel, evolving into more complex tasks such as column pulling, pushing, lifting, and total column removal evolutions.
NFPA 1006 Awareness and Operations-level personnel should be familiar with these tasks; especially the steering wheel ring “cut and bend” steps shown on page 165 in the book. Overall, the more involved procedures are addressed on pages 165-172 in the Vehicle Rescue 1-2-3 book.
Each image related to this evolution is reproduced as a full-screen color image on a PowerPoint slide. On each slide is also a text box that contains the two or three sentences that appear with that image in the book.
The ‘Notes’ section of each slide forms the Presenter’s Lesson Plan. Training tips, recommendations, advice on presenting the info, and more are also within the ‘Notes’ section of the PowerPoint program slides.
